When should i fix the enquiry ?
The ultimate question a supplier get asked daily. in my opinion is the best combo of “best price of the week + ” barge schedule availability”
Best price of the week : We all have the fantasy that we can fix the price on the lowest price of the week, but of course – we cant, as human being are poor at predicting the future by nature, and there are too much variable in the market. Of course we all trying to avoid to fix at the highest but generally if we can fix at a relatively low price range of the week that will be nice
Barge schedule availability : If wont help you if today price drop USD20 but your vessel coming in 3 hours time. A common mistake i see buyer making is wait for the last minute and finally price come down a bit, but because of the tight ETA now no much supplier can do ( and supplier knew it ). so your price is even more unfavorable or is the same. Always check the normal lead time range for different port and make sure you dont wait till the last minute to make the decision.
