the number one question in the holiday period
Many client asked me over the past 2 weeks , can “port X” supply LSFO ? I usually follow up with what is quantity and ETA ? then client will just yell back ” just tell me they have it or not !! “, so I checked with supplier who told me they can supply LSFO , client finally send me an enquiry of 1000MT supply tomorrow. Very often supplier will told me cant do and now client yell again” YOU SAID THEY HAVE !”. To make it simpler , consider below when we are planning to procure LSFO cargo
ETA : This matter because some supplier are still supplying HSFO as well as LSFO, means the number of barge is the same but the number of tank availability actually decreased, in other word, tank capacity is reduced so they might take longer time to go back and forth for loading to supply same amount of volume of only HSFO in the past. Planning slightly ahead than usual can save many troubles.
Quantity: Since supply is still very limited but demand is more or less the same; Huge quantity is actually harder to supply now due to lack of cargo and tank capacity. It might be wise in the first quarter of 2020 to have a plan B for example spliting the demand in several ports to avoid the situation of put all the demand in one main port but there is no cargo .
