4 more days into Chinese New year ! Instead of mass email e-card just some quick tips here :
- Singapore paper market
Despite it is Chinese New year, we should take notice when is the holiday in Singapore. You might think but my enquiry is in Fujairah or other places, yet many ports are quoting basis Singapore platts. When there is no paper market , it is no different than sending out enquiry on a Sunday and you might expect higher price than usual trading day.
2. Long holiday in China
In case you need bunkers in China, make sure you work with local supplier or the traders in advance so that you have sufficient time for custom clearance. Most of the government agency will be closed for the biggest and longest holiday in China. In case you caught in between holidays, your vessel might have to stay for extra few days before receiving bunkers and that will be a huge cost.
